Six building block of health systems

The World Health Report of 2000 prescribes five building blocks of health systems. They are intended for three purposes.
1. They identify desirable attributes of a health system that is expected to handle.
2. They help to identify WHO priority areas.
3. They help to identify gaps in WHO support.

The six building blocks are:
1. Service delivery
2. Health workforce
3. Information
3. Medical products, vaccines and technologies
4. Financing
5. Leadership and governance (stewardship).
